Motorcycle Training Course

Woods Cycle Country recommends riders of all ages take an MSF approved course. The Basic Motorcycle Safety course includes the use of a motorcycle, helmet, and gloves, and graduates are fast tracked by the Drivers License division (only a written test is required - the riding test is waived). An MSF diploma also earns most graduates a discount on motorcycle insurance.

The DirtBike School

DirtBike School is a fun, one-day, hands-on training session available to anyone six years old or above. At approved training sites, MSF certified DBS Coaches will teach you basic riding skills and responsible riding practices, including risk management and environmental awareness.

The Closed Range Exercise provides hands-on riding training with an emphasis on safety and skill development. For more advanced learning, the Introduction to Trail Riding is the next level DirtBike School course designed to familiarize riders with riding off-road on actual trails.

Closed Ranged Exercises (CRE)

The Closed Range Exercises (CRE) course was created by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) to provide hands-on rider training with an emphasis on safety and skill development. New riders, or others who want to improve their riding skills, will benefit from the CRE course taught by certified MSF DirtBike School Coaches. During the school, students learn basic techniques for safely riding off-highway motorcycles. Lessons are presented at controlled off-highway riding sites specifically selected for the course.

Our local instructor is listed below. Feel free to contact him if you have any questions about the local course.

The Motorcycle School

Woods Cycle Country has teamed up with RideSmart, a motorcycle rider's school, which provides instructional assistance for wide variety of skill levels.  Their school is intended for those who already possess fundamentals of motorcycle riding and have acquired approximately 5000 street riding miles.

RideSmart teaches you skills that will put you in control of your bike, on the streets, or at the race track.  You will gain confidence, as well as proficiency and control of your bike.  You'll also learn how to make instant decisions at high speeds, so if you are faced with an emergency, you'll know what to do.

RideSmart teaches at the race track because the environment has been proven the safest place to acquire skills to help you deal with any motorcycle riding emergency.  They have multiple levels of training, so you can choose your own pace.  Their goal is to educate you so you are prepared for the open road so riders have the skill and knowledge to make safe and informed choices.
