Woods Cycle Country Key Cutting

Cutting of keys for motorcycles, ATV's, scooters, and UTV's

Keys can be cut by one of three methods

• Trace cut - old key is used to make a duplicate by tracing the cuts in the old key on to the new key
• Fresh cut - lock set is disassembled and the key is cut based on how the tumblers in the lock are set up.
• Code cut - code provided with the original key (may have been stamped in to the key blank or it may have been provided with the original keys on a small metal tag). You may also find the code for your keys on the original paperwork provided to you by the dealership that set up and sold the vehicle. Not all dealerships log this information.

Trace cutting is never 100% as some minor filing and modifications may need to be made to the key to make it work. Trace cutting is best attempted when the vehicle is present so that the key can be tested in the vehicle.

Fresh cuts require the removal of the ignition switch from the vehicle, and then the lock must be disassembled in order to cut the new key.

Code cutting can only be accomplished with specialized key cutting machinery (Woods Cycle Country does not have this machinery)
